We LOVE Easter in our home, it may have something to do with the endless supply of chocolate and toasted hot cross buns, but it is also the beginning of spring (for those in the Northern Hemisphere), with gorgeous flowers popping up everywhere and the promise of much needed sunshine.
Every year I spend hours planning all the Easter activities, including what to bake and what to make for the kids to keep them entertained in the Easter holidays. Here’s my Easter Roundup for 2021!
Five delicious Easter bakes I will be baking this Easter
- Easter Brownies – don’t these look delicious and delightful?
- Hot Cross buns – every year I say I will make them and every year I end up stocking up from the local highstreet, BUT this year I am determined to give it a go, especially as my son isn’t a fan of raisins and I’ve promised him some special raisin-free hot cross buns.
- Easter Bread – don’t these look so beautiful? And with all the sweet bakes on the menu I thought these would be a great addition. They look like a perfect breakfast loaf.
- Dyed Eggs – after spending Easter in Germany one year I’ve fallen in love with this tradition of dying and decorating eggs over Easter. The eggs look so pretty when done and make a much more healthy snack than the chocolate eggs!
- Lamingtons – my absolute favourite cake! With the coconut covering I thought they would make perfect cakes for my easter bunny cake toppers!
DIY Easter decor
Nothing is more exciting than making a home feel festive, and Easter is no exception. I’ve created a collection of fun bright Easter printables to create your own Easter decorations. My children love arts and crafts and so they get super excited about printables and helping me make all our Easter decor! This year I managed to create a few new Easter Printables to make Easter extra special after a long, cold Covid winter. Take a look at this super cute Easter Bunny party hat!
OH, and I also have an Easter printable Freebie – make sure you don’t miss out!
